🍎Repost: A Nation in Apostasy?

*Synopsis: The United States has been in an acute socio-political upheaval. There is racial unrest, protest movements, and domestic terrorism. Some people claim that elements in these events are not entirely organic in nature. Others have made allegations that paid protesters and agent provocateurs are at work in the protest demonstrations. A retired Army Special Forces Officer, a Rastafarian, and a whistleblower-voter rights activist share their opinions on the nation’s state of affairs.

In addition, there has been a growing exodus of African-Americans moving abroad for a while now. Younger individuals are moving to seek better opportunities for entrepreneurship and more racial harmony. Some American industries report a “brain drain” of African-American talent, because they have moved to other countries for new opportunities, and have not returned.

The biblical time of the Prophet Jeremiah was an era when the people of Israel had forsaken the Lord Almighty. The King of Babylon and his army from the north defeated Israel. The nation of Israel was in a state of apostasy against the Almighty. And they were judged and punished for it. Remembrance of this event, beckons one to ask if we are a nation in apostasy?

A Nation in Apostasy?

The biblical time of the Prophet Jeremiah was an era when the people of Israel had forsaken the Lord Almighty. Instead, they embraced polytheism, idolatry, acts of injustice, and various forms of wickedness. Jeremiah instructed the leaders and people to repent and return to the ways of the Almighty. Otherwise, Jerusalem would be destroyed and the inhabitants would be taken into captivity. Most people did not listen. The King of Babylon and his army from the north defeated Israel. The nation of Israel was in a state of apostasy against the Almighty. And they were judged and punished for it.

The United States has been in an acute socio-political upheaval. It beckons one to ask if we are a nation in apostasy? There is racial unrest, protest movements, and domestic terrorism. Some people claim that elements in these events are not entirely organic in nature. Others have made allegations that paid protesters and agent provocateurs are at work in the protest demonstrations. Recently, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas questioned the FBI (2022): “How many FBI agents or confidential informants actively participated in the events of January 6th?” The FBI response: “Sir, I’m sure you can appreciate I can’t go into the specifics of sources and methods (time-mark 3:00).” ¹ However, there are people sharing their opinions on the state of America.

Joe Fox is a pastor, author, and a retired Army Special Forces Officer. He operates the Viking Preparedness YouTube channel. He gives his opinion on Antifa, Black Lives Matter (BLM), front organizations, and coordinated attacks through out the country. He states the following quoted commentary in his video: “We are witnessing an insurgency” (June 2020):  

“The system is allowing this. They are allowing this. Some might say they are facilitating it…(time-mark 9:03). But what we do agree on, is because we both went to the same schools, we had the same experiences. We know insurrection, insurgency, counter insurgency, how to fight it. We both have participated in programs on both sides of that coin…We understand what’s going on here. There is an insurgency going, not brewing in this country…(time-mark 11:46). They want to overthrow the government. They want to change the system of America and I’m telling yah, it’s communists…(time-mark 15:37).” ²    

Pharaoh El Aton is a gentleman teacher and Rasta with the Pharaoh Said That YouTube Channel. He provides a good socio-political analysis of myths found in revolutionary doctrine, an overview of Fidel Castro, and Russian communism. He speaks of his own experiences from the 1970s in the video: “Castro was not a true revolutionary” (November 2016):  

“A lot of Black people worship these revolutionary figures that are not true revolutionaries and were also behind racist governments…Look how Black people are treated in Cuba…(time-mark 14:22). All of a sudden in America, like here in Chicago and everywhere, there popped-up these people that would be standing on all the corners in Black neighborhoods…They would be giving out these communist newspapers. And I hated them, because I knew the communist government was trying to overthrow Emperor Haile Selassie. So, I didn’t like no Russian communist [expletive]…You wouldn’t see them a lot in no White community. You see them in the Black community…(time-mark 16:30).” ³ 

Anita Moncrief, the Acorn whistle blower and voter rights activist, gives her opinion on affiliated members and associates in the video: “Q & A with Anita Moncrief” (October 2012):

“It’s all about power. When their out there, trying to bring power to the community, that’s not true. Their trying to put people in places where they can have political power. I tell people that in the sixties, after Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground got tired of being put on the FBI watch list, they realized if they were going to destroy America, they had to do it from within. So, they assimilated, they infiltrated, and they went into academia, the clergy, the non-profit world. And I’m sorry to say this, they went into the Republican Party too. And we have seen the corruption on both sides of the aisles…(time-mark 10:40).” ⁴   

The opinions of these various individuals gives good food for thought about current affairs in the nation. It also provides the opportunity to review the Biblical story of the Prophet Jeremiah for additional insight.

Ex-Mississippi Mayor Moves to Africa

Anthony Witherspoon is the former mayor of Magnolia, Mississippi. He moved to Tanzania to start a tourism business. He wants to encourage others from the African Diaspora to explore relocation options to Africa.

There has been a growing exodus of African-Americans moving to the continent of Africa for a while now. And this is a personal decision. There are options to explore dual citizenship, residency, seasonal living, or for a one-time pilgrimage. The African Diaspora of America is also moving to the Caribbean. For life in places such as the U.S. Virgin Islands or the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. They are no longer on the mainland and can still have the benefits of the U.S. currency. And it’s not just retirees making the move. Younger individuals are moving abroad to seek better opportunities for entrepreneurship and more racial harmony.

Some American industries report a “brain drain” of African-American talent, who have moved to other countries for new opportunities, and have not returned. There is no utopia anywhere, every country will have pros and cons. You must weigh what’s best for you, your family, and situation. The world is your oyster!
